Week 4: Sunday

2010 will be THE year that I move outside my comfort zone. And with God's leading, I claim the following:
  1. Finish reading the whole bible by following the chronological plan by YouVersion.
  2. Lose 10 pounds and keep it off by running, strength training and following a good diet.
  3. Create my own website in Django/Python/MySQL
  4. Get a different hairstyle -- maybe a little trim, some highlights and color.
  5. Teach my children how to ride a bike
  6. Wake up early, consistently. Early is 5:20am.
  7. Do the SF Marathon in July
  8. Develop new, healthy, lifelong relationships with other women.
  9. Go out on date nights with James and spend one-to-one time with kids
  10. Give generously
James flew to San Jose today. He has an interview at Mountain View tomorrow so we decided that he spend the night there so can have more time to prepare. He is a little bit anxious about the whole thing -- I am too. But I am trying my best not to add to the stress by giving "advice" and "tips". I am very proud of my husband. He is smart, hardworking and passionate about his job. For me, nobody else deserves this break but him. It's been a long time coming...

My prayer is that God would give him another chance. I understand that there are literally thousands of applicants vying for the same position. But I am believing that God's supernatural favor would rest upon James. This may sound so "religious" and "preachy" but in my heart of hearts I know that James has gotten this far because God was with him. Proverbs 21:31 says, "The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.". There may be other applicants who are smarter and "more qualified". But at the end of the day, it is God who chooses.

Goodnight blog fans! May God bless all of us in this coming week :) I leave you with the Priestly Blessing from the Book of Numbers:

The Priestly Blessing
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, 23 “Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing:

24 ‘May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
25 May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
26 May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace.’

27 Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

- Numbers 6:22-27
